STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math) will be rolling up to West Middle School for the upcoming school year. Students from Haskell (where this program has been housed for elementary) are able to continue in this special program in middle school for the first time ever! This program will serve 6th grade students at West in 2025-2026 and will continue to roll up all the way to 8th grade in the coming years. This special program is open to families that reside in Rockford Public School boundaries.

Reminders for Thursday night promotion ceremony. Everyone enters through door I. Students will meet in the cafeteria at 4:30 pm. Doors open for family at 5:00 pm. The ceremony starts promptly at 5:30 pm. Each student received 3 tickets for family. Please bring your tickets to the ceremony. No balloons, party poppers, food, or drink allowed in the auditorium. 8th graders will be released first, followed by everyone else to the front lawn for photo opportunities.

As a reminder, our summer enrichment program will be in partnership with IB Conklin and the YMCA Good Shepherd. This program is for all current West students. Two options will be offered. Option 1- A FREE enrichment only option which is from 8:30 am - 12:00 pm Monday through Thursday (June 23 - July 31). Option 2 - For those who need care for a full day (Good Shepherd Adventure Camp (7:00 am - 5:30 pm) and students will attend West Middle School for Enrichment M-Th from 8:30 am - 12:00 pm. Please see the attached flyers for more information and scan the QR Code/Link to register. For those interested in Option 2, there is a fee for the YMCA Adventure Camp, however they do have Financial Assistance Available. Space for Summer Enrichment is limited, so please register ASAP.
