What programs do you offer?
Our program offerings change with the job demands of our employers but current programs are listed on the Programs menu located at the top of each page. If you think there is something we should offer, please let email our Student Services Dean.
We also offer GED preparation and Adult Basic Education for diploma retrieval and ESOL classes.
When does the next program start?
Program start dates vary according to need, staffing, enrollment and our calendar. Check with the Student Services Dean for program start dates.
How do I apply for financial aid?
Am I eligible for financial aid?
Financial Aid qualifications vary. All students should complete the federal government’s Free Application for Student Financial Aid (FASFA). You must complete the FASFA for all financial aid, including Bright Futures. There is a link to the FASFA (free) web site on the Financial Aid listing. Make an appointment with the Financial Aid advisor for more detailed information. 850-892-1240 ext 5185

A new FASFA should be updated in January each year you continue your education.
Emerald Coast Technical College does not process or administer loans.
Can I apply for a student loan?
At this time, Emerald Coast Technical College does not offer student loans.
How do I get my parking decal or id badge?
Parking decals are issued by our Receptionist. You must bring a valid driver’s license, proof of title and proof of insurance plus payment. The parking decal is good for one entire school year.
ID badges are required for all faculty, staff and students.
How can I communicate with my instructor?
Use the e mail link from the staff page.
Do I have to meet with a dean?
Every student should meet with the Student Services Dean to match the best program to the student and schedule classes.
How do I get set up for a TABE or a TEAS exam?
Each of these assessments can be arranged through the admissions office. You will need to pay the fee, get an appointment time and show up on the designated day and time with your picture ID and receipt. Check the handbook for testing fees.
How do I obtain a copy of my transcript?
You can get a copy of your transcript by using our online form. Select the Admissions tab to locate the form. Print the form, and submit it with the proper fees.

How do I begin enrollment in a career program at Emerald Coast Technical College?
Check the Admissions tab on the web site and look for the check list. Start with an orientation or an appointment to talk to our Student Services Dean. This will get you on the right track. You will need to get documents in place to begin the process.
How much will it cost to complete a program at ECTC?
Select the program you are interested in and then find the link to Program of Study. You will find approximate program costs for the current year.
**Note: some programs require additional expenses for uniforms, testing or kits. Check with Admissions for specifics.
Does Emerald Coast Technical College offer Veteran’s Assistance?

Is Financial Aid Available for Continuing Education Classes?
Financial Aid is not available for Continuing Education Classes.
What can I expect to pay for tuition and fees?

What is ECTC's holiday schedule?
ECTC's holiday schedule can be found in our calendar and our catalog.
When do I need to purchase books for my classes?
Students should have their class schedule and syllabus before purchasing books. Check with the course/program instructor before getting text books from the school’s bookkeeper. All textbooks are listed on program syllabus, located on each program page.
Where can I take my GED?
ECTC offers GED Prep courses to prepare students to take the exam on the ECTC campus (by appointment). Call 850-892-1241 for more information.
How do I get started in GED Prep?
The first step is to take a TABE (The Adult Basic Education Test) which may be scheduled by contacting 892-1241. The cost is currently $30 and you must provide 2 forms of ID (one should be a picture ID) in order to test. Your next step is to make sure you have requested your transcripts from your prior school be sent to ECTC and that you have completed an application and all necessary admissions paperwork to include the Florida Residency form. Once your TABE scores are given to Admissions you will be scheduled an appointment to meet with a counselor to discuss your best course of action in attaining your Adult Diploma or GED credential.
How long will it take for me to finish my courses for GED Prep?
GED Prep courses are offered in all subject areas of the GED, and depending on the student's level of knowledge and study time, may be completed in a timely manner. Academic progress is up to the individual student, however the instructor monitors progress and will assist or counsel the student if there is not sufficient gains or study time.
