I'm a member of Total Faith Community Church and part of Total Faith Development, a 501c3 Mentor Program for 4th and 5th grade boys at Ellis Elementary School. The program is in its third year, and I have been a part of the program from day one. I have enjoyed giving the boys a sense of belonging and love from their community. So happy to be with our boys, who we call “prince”, letting them know they can become kings one day because the sky is the limit. We use affirmations at the beginning of each class to aspire them to be young men of character. This walk with them has been a great experience for me as a first-time mentor; would do it again in a heartbeat. I wish only the best for our future kings and hope our experience with them will provide a path for success in their future endeavors that will last a lifetime.
